A Note From Your Principals

Happy October, Hawk Families!

Welcome to a new month! As the autumn leaves begin to change, we are officially settling into the rhythm of the school year.

While the recent heavy rain has kept our students indoors for a few recess periods, it hasn’t dampened our school spirit. Our teachers have done a wonderful job keeping classrooms cozy, bright, and filled with learning despite the gloomy weather outside. As we splash our way into October, we have plenty of exciting autumn activities and events just around the corner.

We wanted to take a minute to encourage you to join our fantastic PTO! An amazing school community doesn't just happen—it is built by parents like you. If you want to support our students and staff, please consider joining the PTO. As just one example of our PTO's commitment to our staff, they have created a digital "favorite things" list for every staff member that is now linked to the bottom of this weekly newsletter.

Be part of what makes Herff special. A $25 family membership helps fund student programs, teacher support, campus events and the extras that make Herff feel like home. Every family. Every membership. Every Hawk.
Put your family’s name behind a Herff classroom! Classroom sponsorships give teachers additional funds to purchase what their students and classrooms need most. Your family name will be proudly displayed outside the sponsored room. If your child’s classroom is already sponsored, CAMP and other classrooms throughout Herff are available too.
Local businesses, join the flock! Partner with Herff Elementary PTO, support our students and teachers, and put your business in front of hundreds of Herff families throughout the year. Multiple partnership levels are available. Support local. Make an impact. Help our Hawks soar.

What I like about Herff is that every year there are new kids to meet and make friends with. Science is my favorite subject because I'm really into it and hope that one day I could make the world a better place. I would like to be able to help Herff expand by making Mrs. Hammond and Mrs. Resop's offices bigger because they are really really good Principals and I think they really deserve it.

National Night Out

Hello Wonderful Community!

Join us for National Night Out on Tuesday, October 6th, from 5:00 PM–8:00 PM!

This year, we’re excited to invite our neighborhoods to participate in our first-ever centralized National Night Out Block Party! The goal is to bring our community together for an evening of fun, fellowship, and building

relationships with our neighbors and first responders.
